Filming Untitled Terrence Malick Project in Austin
Ryan was seen filming scenes for the untitled Terrence Malick project - previously titled “Lawless” - in Austin, Texas with his co-star Rooney Mara on September 22nd. We added the full set of photos in our gallery. The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale and Natalie Portman.
The film follows two intersecting love triangles. It is a story of sexual obsession and betrayal set against the music scene in Austin, Texas.

Do you know how long will he be in Austin? Is there a way to find out where he’s shooting to see if we can spot him?

@ Sarah - I have no idea, since Terrence Malick’s work method is secretive it’s hard to tell. Ryan doesn’t have any projects planned for this year (that we are aware of) and I think we can assume they will continue to shoot for the next weeks. Twitter is usually a good source for sightings, and you should also keep an eye on the local news (paper) sites in Austin.

I’m curious about who is taking these pictures. When Malick was filming this summer with Christian Bale there were a lot of photos as well. If Malick’s work method is secretive why does he let a paparazzi staying so close, and… in a position where he can be caught in the scene framing. Isn’t it distracting for the actors?
Loving the photos though. I won’t miss this movie for sure.
