“Blue Valentine” hits (selected) theaters today (December 29). You can buy tickets online via movie sites like MovieFone, MovieTickets or Fandago.

Ryan and Michelle WIlliams are getting raving reviews. At this moment Ryan is nominated for a Golden Globe and a Satellite Award – let’s hope they will get an oscar nomination too.

Ryan had an interview with MTV during the press conference of “Blue Valentine“. You can watch all the interviews below. Love watching interviews of Ryan, he has a great personality. One of the major facts I admire him so much.

Ryan Gosling is set to appear on the big screen this month in a new film about love. Of course, while he might forever be remembered as the lovelorn Noah in “The Notebook,” he’s certainly weaving a different story about relationships in the darker “Blue Valentine.”

So, does Gosling think fans of the sweeping Nicholas Sparks love story will find anything to relate to in this gritty, sexy new flick?

“I think that ‘Blue Valentine’ is a nice companion piece to ‘The Notebook,’ because I feel like both are true,” he told MTV News. “That they’re both possible, and the truth is somewhere in the middle. But I feel like ‘Blue Valentine’ kind of picks up where ‘The Notebook’ leaves off.”

While “The Notebook” deals with the courtship of two people who are head-over-heels for each other, “Blue Valentine” looks deeper at what happens after two people think they’ve gotten their happy ending.

Ryan Gosling again takes the plunge in ‘Blue Valentine’
The actor, known for diving headlong into his roles, puts his emotional stamp on ‘Blue Valentine’ and contemplates what’s next. ‘I don’t want to play the same note,’ Gosling says.

He’s played a Jewish neo-Nazi, a crack-addict schoolteacher and a man who falls in love with an inflatable doll.

But suggest to Ryan Gosling, an independent-film poster child for the better part of a decade, that he chooses roles for their complexity rather than their commercial appeal and he’ll wave you aside.

“When I make these movies, I don’t think, ‘I want to make a little indie movie and I want to stay in the indie world because I think it’s cool,’” says the twinkle-eyed Canadian actor. “I make these movies and think, ‘This is the one. This one is going to be “The Blair Witch Project.”‘ I’m sure of it while we’re making it. And then it comes out and it does no business.”
