We reported yesterday Ryan was considered to star alongside Johnny Depp in Disney’s “The Lone Ranger” but according to EW a rep of Ryan confirmed the rumors weren’t true. He will be filming “Logan’s Run” in the fall.
Tonto’s going to need another partner: A rep for Ryan Gosling has confirmed to EW that the Blue Valentine actor will not be playing the title character in Disney’s big-screen version of The Lone Ranger, which is scheduled to head to theaters in 2014. Over the weekend, various outlets reported that the actor was in talks to star alongside Johnny Depp (as Tonto) in the movie. Reports of the talks, however, were premature, as Gosling’s schedule was not yet firmed up. The actor will next appear in July 29′s Crazy, Stupid, Love.

On iTunes as of January 25th and in stores as of February 1st.
One of the best aspects of Derek Cianfrance‘s film is the excellent soundtrack, provided by Brooklyn indie favorites Grizzly Bear. While not an original score (the band were originally meant to write new music for the project, but when the start date was pushed, they ran out of time), the collection of instrumental versions of tracks from the band’s back catalogue was still one of the very best aural treats that’s been found on the big screen of late. There’d be no confirmed word of a soundtrack release until now, but Lakeshore Records have kindly, and exclusively, given us details of the release, which hits stores on February 1st. Update: iTunes release date has been bumped up to January 25.
You may recall PitchFork as the production which released Ryan and Zach’s tour video from DeadMans Bones 2009 Oct state to state tour. Grizzly Bear has teamed up with Derek in creating the films soundtrack. Ryan is also credited on it for his song ‘You Always Hurt The Ones You Love’ (sung most recently live on Jimmy Kimmel)

Ryan and Zach released this great 12min music video for ‘Pa Pa Power’. It was filmed at Chancellor Place in California. The interaction is amazing and the particapation of the residents.
Enjoy

They are very entertaining, a wonderful watch and inside look at The Dead Mans Bones tour this past Fall (2009)
Thanks to BlackBook Magazine we have this diary of a show of Dead Man’s Bones.

I would only allow a picture to be taken of me if I could do 15 push-ups right before. Unfortunately, I can only do 30 push-ups each day, so there are only two pictures of me. Also, all this paint was seeping through the canvas onto the floor. We had to paint the whole floor black again before we left. Also, our friend who owned this space was pissed. Also, we’re never allowed to darken the doors here again. —Ryan
This is a portrait of two guys who have no idea what they are doing. Good thing a bunch of our friends were there to help. We spent two weekends painting through the night with them. When we finished the set, we cut out the sky and a friend sewed a bunch of Christmas lights into a sheet to make stars. After we used it at the Bob Baker shows, we took it on the road with us.
I find this short of a review of Dead Man’s Bones:
“Based on the mysteriously intriguing cover, the complete lack of credits and the bizarre and murky sounds within, it is nearly impossible to discern that Dead Man’s Bones is the work of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling — but it is. The cover photo depicts a group shot of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Childrens’ Choir in Halloween costumes, with Gosling and his best friend Zach Shields obscurely placed on either side.
The self-titled release is a loose concept album and theatre project based on supernatural themes. With the lo-fi production, the eerie childrens’ choir and song titles like “Werewolf Heart” and “Flowers Grow Out of My Grave,” Dead Man’s Bones manages to consistently bind the entire strange project together. Gosling and Shield’s muddled voices maintain a spooky atmosphere in the many slower numbers. However, brilliant upbeat flashes like “My Body’s A Zombie For You” come out of nowhere and feature the childrens’ choir sounding like the Arcade Fire singing doo-wop on Halloween night. The spotlight tends to focus on the aforementioned choir, with Gosling and Shields sitting back and directing the whole project. It shouldn’t work — but it does and is executed wonderfully.
This album should be sought out and heard simply because there is nothing out there today that sounds remotely like it.”

We have been severely influenced by the works of Jan Michael Vincent and early Jean Paul Sartre and I guess this our way of saying “thank-you” to all those who stood for something real and several things unreal. For all the Lou Diamond Phillips of the world who can step out in faith and say “please show my date the way out, quick”! This is for you.
