Hey girl, you’ve had quite the year. Ryan Gosling successfully cast aside The Notebook and his indie-flick past this year and proved himself as a deeply gifted actor and genetically blessed individual. His presence in Crazy, Stupid Love, Drive and Ides of March elevated the otherwise enjoyable films to unexpected levels of cinematic entertainment. For that, we’re thankful that 2011 will go down as the year of Ryan Gosling. Everywhere we looked, Gosling’s soulful, puppy-dog eyes stared back longingly, even from a fake TIME cover. Obvious talent aside, we’re thankful for Gosling’s quirkiness, his heroics, his general awesomeness and the memes he inspired. Heck, we’re even thankful he wasn’t named Sexiest Man Alive so that everyone could be indignant in their love for him and he could become a martyr for sexiness. Thank you, Ryan Gosling. Just, thank you.

We finally were able to finish our brand new layout – which was our ‘surprise’ birthday layout – since I recently got my macbook back. It’s made by me, Lindsey @ Twilight Designs Inc., and I used one of my favorite photoshoots of Ryan: his 2010 Interview Magazine shoot by Mikael Jansson. Let us know what you think about our new design and if you find any errors.

We also want to thank everyone who visits the sites, comments, tweets us and gives us feedback. We recently celebrate our 2 1/2 year anniversary and we hope many more years will come. We are proud this site is your ever growing source dedicated to Ryan and we are so glad our site is doing so well, especially this last year since Ryan’s career is going so good.

We wanted to wish Ryan a happy (belated) birthday because he turned 31 yesterday. We hope he had a wonderful day with family and friends! Sorry that I didn’t update you yesterday but my laptop broke yesterday and I have to bring it back to the store. I am not sure how long it will take to get it fixed but updates may come a little later then usual.

We also had a suprised planned to celebrate Ryan’s birthday: I wanted to put up a brand new layout, sadly I could not finish it in time because of my laptop. I will get it up as soon as possible but there isn’t much I can do about it.

Recently, he starred in the dark indie “Blue Valentine,” the zippy romantic comedy “Crazy, Stupid Love,” and the action thriller “Drive.” On Oct. 7, he’ll headline “The Ides of March,” a drama about a staffer for a presidential candidate (George Clooney) who gets plunged into dirty politics. His resume also includes quirky comedies (“Lars and the Real Girl”), thrillers (“Murder By Numbers”), and one of the most beloved romances of the last twenty years (“The Notebook.”)

His fans have noticed the diversity. “What I find appealing about Ryan is the wide range of roles and movies he does,” says Leslie Henstock, a movie buff in Manhattan.

“I think the variety of choices in his films is what makes him stand out in his age group.” said, Lindsey, who asked that her last name not be used, but is the owner of the website GoslingFan.com. “He doesn’t repeat himself. He is brave, and he doesn’t stick to what he knows because he challenges himself.”

We just came across some missing portraits of Ryan and Michelle Williams during their “Blue Valentine” promotion back in December 2010. The portrait session was taken by LA Times.

We have a brand new look as you can see, designed by the talented Jessica from Night Blooming Designs. The portraits from Ryan during Film Festival Cannes 2011 are used for the header. Big thanks to our lovely co-owner Helena for ordering the layout. We updated Ryan’s current and upcoming projects in our sidebar and we added a new section with upcoming Key Dates like movie releases and talk show appearances because Ryan has a lot going on right now. Next up is the release of “Crazy, Stupid, Love”.
