Ryan and his co-star Rooney Mara were seen yesterday at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas for “Lawless“. They had a camera crew with them but since the movie is still in pre-production it could also be -like the commenters on IndieWirie pointed out- for preparation work. Ryan Gosling has landed a new leading role in Terrence Malicks upcoming film ‘Lawless’. This film is holding an all star cast which included, Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale.

Terrence Malick has assembled all-star casts for his next two films, which he’ll shoot back to back in 2012: Lawless and Knight of Cups. Glen Basner’s FilmNation will launch both projects to foreign buyers at the American Film Market, which gets underway Wednesday in Santa Monica.

Ryan Gosling will stake a starring role in Lawless, while the supporting cast includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett.

A brand new photoshoot of Ryan was recently released taken in December of last year to promote “Blue Valentine“. The shoot is taken by Richard Saker for the Obsever in the UK of January 2011.

Blackfilm.com released the first production stills of “The Place Beyond the Pines” including one of Ryan as Luke. We added the still in our gallery, the movie is directed by Derek Cianfrance who also directed “Blue Valentine” and stars Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Ben Mendelsohn, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali and Ray Liotta alongside Ryan.

Luke (Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son, but when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Cooper) their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational fued. The Place Beyond the Pines is a rich dramatic thriller that traces the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villain.

We are sorry we missed these before but Ryan was seen walking in LA after leaving the set of “The Gangster Squad” last week (October 20th). He was photographed filming on set of “The Gangster Squad“ that same day.
