Feeling the Love
The Office’s’ Steve Carell and Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling discover a startling chemistry.
Steve Carell didn’t mind the slapping. But the man-kissing was too much.
During filming for his new movie “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” a romantic dramedy about a father attempting to remake himself after his marriage hits the skids, Carell found himself on the receiving end of some surprise high jinks from costar Ryan Gosling. Like smacking. And smooching.
When Gosling improvised a scene by administering a strike across the face, Carell didn’t break. “All I wanted was for him to hit me harder and harder,” the actor said. “It was beautiful.”
“Crazy, Stupid, Love” opened this weekend and had a great opening weekend! Box Office Mojo is reporting that it came in fifth with an estimated $19.3 million. Did you see the movie this weekend?
Meanwhile, Crazy, Stupid, Love. bagged an estimated $19.3 million on around 3,300 screens at 3,020 locations. The romantic comedy performed much better than Larry Crowne earlier this month and improved on comparable past titles like The Dilemma and Must Love Dogs, but it opened lower than star Steve Carell’s Dinner for Schmucks’s $23.5 million on the same wekeend last year. Distributor Warner Bros. noted that Crazy’s audience was 64 percent female and 71 percent age 25 years and older.
