Feeling the Love
The Office’s’ Steve Carell and Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling discover a startling chemistry.

Steve Carell didn’t mind the slapping. But the man-kissing was too much.

During filming for his new movie “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” a romantic dramedy about a father attempting to remake himself after his marriage hits the skids, Carell found himself on the receiving end of some surprise high jinks from costar Ryan Gosling. Like smacking. And smooching.

When Gosling improvised a scene by administering a strike across the face, Carell didn’t break. “All I wanted was for him to hit me harder and harder,” the actor said. “It was beautiful.”

“Crazy, Stupid, Love” Box Office Report

Crazy, Stupid, Love” opened this weekend and had a great opening weekend! Box Office Mojo is reporting that it came in fifth with an estimated $19.3 million. Did you see the movie this weekend?


Meanwhile, Crazy, Stupid, Love. bagged an estimated $19.3 million on around 3,300 screens at 3,020 locations. The romantic comedy performed much better than Larry Crowne earlier this month and improved on comparable past titles like The Dilemma and Must Love Dogs, but it opened lower than star Steve Carell’s Dinner for Schmucks’s $23.5 million on the same wekeend last year. Distributor Warner Bros. noted that Crazy’s audience was 64 percent female and 71 percent age 25 years and older.

“Drive” at Toronto International Film Festival

Drive” was added to the line-up of the Toronto International Film Festival 2011. Ryan’s other upcoming movie “The Ides of March” is also selected for the festival, which is held from September 8 to 18.

Deadline published the official press release of TIFF 2011. “Drive” is part of the ‘Special Presentations’ and will be the Canadian premiere for the movie while “The Ides of March” is the USA North-America premiere. We are assuming Ryan will attend the festival, we hope he can because he is currently filming “The Place beyond the Pines“.
